TM 51: How to Manage Insecurities

Today we are going to take our insecurities to Subway! 

Welcome back to the 51st episode of the Thursday Meditations show!

The last few weeks, we’ve been talking about insecurities. During these last weeks, I’ve noticed some insecurities in myself a little more and definitely noticed it more in other people around me. That solidified my belief that we need to understand our own insecurities and create an action plan with which to manage/overcome them. We are to be in control of ourselves, because, in reality, that’s all we can control. 

So today, you and I are going to Subway. We are going to take our insecurities and the underlying problems causing them to the Insecurity Subway, or maybe the regular subway is the insecurity subway.

Either way, we are going to examine a long line of different ingredients you and I can add to our plan to combat the problems causing our insecurities. Each method I describe can be compared to an ingredient on a Subway sandwich. At the end, you’ll have a delicious plan for combating your insecurities and their underlying problem.

So let’s get to it:

  1. Flip the Script (Opposite Day)
  2. Accountability Partner / Find a Listening Ear
  3. Journal Writing and Deep Introspection
  4. Humility / Trying New Things
  5. Honesty / Removing Emotional Tags
  6. Slow Down
  7. Skill Acquisition
  8. Practice Expectation Setting
  9. Remember / Gratitude
  10. Get your hope/faith back
  11. Therapy

Now, go make your delicious insecurity management plan. Using the correct ingredients for you, you’ll be able to be happier, become a better person and have a better life. It might be hard, but that will make you better. That’s what we’re here for isn’t it?
